5.8% is what teachers will have to pay for their pensions.
6.2% is what teachers do not have to pay for the employee share of Social Security.

That's quite a feat, which may amount to tax fraud by the District.
I think one would want to examine the employee's W-2 to verify that.
That's what he told me. He just went through a divorce and examined her finances in much detail.
The other story I've heard is that since the WI pensions were established before SS, those that will receive the pensions were exempted from SS. I've seen some confirmation of this online, but nothing official looking.
There are some people who are exempt from SS taxation, but I don't know if that's because of pre-dating the system.
