John McCain: "Thank you Rush."

Before Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham dumped on John McCain, moderate voters perceived the political spectrum something like this. Hillary & Barrack are both seen as slightly left of center, but still moderate. McCain was placed on the right-wing fringe, right next to Limbaugh and all the other Republican candidates.

After his bashing by the extreme right, the perception of McCain has shifted left, away from Limbaugh and the other candidates.

McCain may have a chance to win November's general election if he can push independent voters' perception of Clinton and Obama to the left.
